*******************Planned Outages -none pending ***2/15/04 -The webserver was physically moved, incurring about 1 hour of downtime. *******************Unplanned Outages ***11-March-2007 -There have been several outages in the past 4-5 months due to unreliability of my home DSL connection. We have been addressing. ***6/5/05 -Our server was down on Saturday June 4th from about 2pm until 11:45pm. There was a huge thunderstorm in Sycamore and an unprecedented 3 hour poweroutage. After 15 minutes, I shut down the webservers gracefully, as the UPS will only run the systems for about 30 minutes. When the power wasn't back up by 4:30pm, and I had to leave, they had to stay down until I returned at 11:45pm. ***5/27/05 -Our server was down from Thursday May 19th - Monday May 23rd. We had a hard disk crash on the server, which prompted a necessary server rebuild. Thanks to Rich Ramos for huge effort of getting it back online quickly, and of course, better than it was before. ***3/30/04 -Changes on the ISP authentication side caused the server to become unaccessible from about 2am on Sunday to about 10am on Monday CT. ***1/11/04 -Our service provider is tbc.net. Here is their description of what occurred today..... Most the morning on Sunday, our service was not operational. Early Sunday morning our network monitoring system notified our technicians that there was a problem, and they went to work resolving the issue immediately. Due to the complexity of the problem, the resolution took some time. Around Noon on Sunday, all services were back and operational ***11/10/03 -combined set of problems led to quite a bit of downtime in the last 24 hours. Specifically, our ISP is going through some changes and a 'bad cable' on the primary web server caused problems with them as well with the state of the physical port on the machine. As of 11:30am, everything seems to be running normally again. ***8/18/04 -we have had several outages in the last few weeks. in each case, this has been the result of a network configuration issue that seems to be aggravated by an outage at the ISP. the fix is fairly easy to do, but the issue is noticing and getting to it. We will write a script to automate the fix. In the meantime, an alternate way to get a hold of me to notify me of an outage is to call my cell phone at 815-739-0429.
